She is an humorist with jokes
Francine Niyonkuru was born in Gitega province, in Bugendana commune. She is one of the girls living with blindness disability. Since she was 23 years old, she never saw anything due probably to the brain nervous disease which had been ignored by her parents Francine.
Thus, Francine became blind. However, Francine Niyonkuru thanks a lot her parents for not maintaining her at homme because only she is blind. On the contrary, the quick tried to found out where school which could facilitate her according to her disability. This school was Centre Rumuri located in Gitega at Mushasha erea. There, she began fist form and continued till six form .
In late Burundi, there were no pupils with blindness disability who could pass the national exam due to technical matter related to tactile writing system.
The coalition UPHB (Union of persons living with disability in Burundi) made efforts to make advocacy in partnership and concluded that pupils with blindness disability could pass the exam.
Francine passed the exam in the second round and succeeded it in sixth form. She attended CND Scholl in Gitega. After finishing the social field at that school, she tried to find out whoever could support her to study university studies. She finally got Sylvie Uwiragiye, the Uwiragiye Foundation Founder. Three pupils who were supported by that women Francine to know her. Those pupils attended CND school too.They are Donatien Niyonzima, Régis Bigirindavyi and Spès Nininahazwe. Two of the three already graduated at Burundi University.
On 3 february2023, Francine got a two years degree in projects management and development faculty.
Francine thanks a lot Sylvie Uwiragiye, the Uwiragiye Foundation owner for many things she did for her in order to graduate at university. She undergone Francine’s many illnesses, she gave her clothes, she fed her till she graduates. 0nly God will give her reward, said Francine Niyonkuru.
Even though Francine graduated in two years faculty at Hope Africa university she needs to go forward in journalism faculty in order to get skills in journalism. She is known as producer of humorist stories at different parties. She began to this since she was in primary school at Mushasha in Gitega.
When she passed the national exam, she didn’t succeed but she did not give up. She was on the contrary inspired by her failure and decided to pass the exam for second time. As she wanted to get permission to go to study at university in journalism faculty in order to get many skills in journalism. For the second time, she succeeded when got more than 56 %.
Currently, Francine Niyonkuru is calling upon anyone who cane support her to study at university in communication faculty. Three yeas ago, Francine was supported by Uwiragiye foundation in terms of accommodation, providing school fees and health care. She can’t stop thanking Uwiragiye Sylvie who set up that foundation and helped her in spite of Francine’s many deceases.
Francine Niyonkuru is the fourth pupil to be supported by Uwiragiye Foundation in studding at university.
