I hoped that I was unable to go to school like my little brothers. I hoped that I could not be like others.  I want to study at university and become a doctor in language<\/strong>s<\/strong>, said Bertin<\/strong> during the interview<\/strong>. <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the December 3 of every year, people from all over the world celebrates the \u2018International Day of Disabled Persons<\/strong>\u2019 with different activities, including forums, public discussions, information campaigns and sport events to focus on disability issues and raise awareness. On this  opportunity,  Uwiragiye Sylvie paid a visit to the Penn Blind School. She was so excited to see how learners are becoming more mature in different domains. She congratulated them. One of these learners is Nishimwe Bertin, a pupil who had been also appreciated by the  Ambassador of the United State in Burundi for  mastering well the English language even though he is blind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bertin is a learner in 7 form of fundamental school. He is blind since primary school and has studied English. Speaking fluently English, he said he got an announcement and went to school. Now I am so happy. Here we don\u2019t pay money, we study very well, we get everything for zero. I don\u2019t know how I can say to describe this mother, said grandiloquently the blind learner. The Penn Blind School has 107 learners whose 12 can see clearly and 95 are visually either impaired or blind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding to the journalists’ questions, he mentioned that he likes to sing song and told to his \u00a0\u00bb good mother\u00a0\u00bb to give him funds and he is waiting for the feed back from his \u00a0\u00bbgood mother\u00a0\u00bb and he was excepting to get a answer. I am convinced she will give those funds because she already did many things for me and for my colleagues, he added bombastically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talking about Uwiragiye Foundation’s Founder, he said he was  unable to describe well that \u00a0\u00bb mother\u00a0\u00bb who tried to do her best in order to achieve her target.The later is that every child with visual impairment in Burundi fully enjoys all the rights on the same basis as other children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The annual observance of this day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well being of persons with a disability. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with a disability in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.<\/p>\n\r\n
